American Christians live in what may be the most difficult mission field in the history of the Church. Those who would respond to this challenge most often pursue one of two very different strategies, either retreating from the culture or merging with it. But shouldn’t there be a third way?
This talk will examine what a third way of being “salt and light” might look like through the lens of the ongoing discussion of the Christian mind. It will draw from the insights of a varied group of Christian thinkers, from Harry Blamires (English professor) to Mark Noll (historian) to Cornelius Plantinga Jr. (seminary president) to Lesslie Newbigin (missionary).
What does it mean to think and live Christianly in a secular age?
