For the Love of God

If you are struggling to understand God’s word in your private worship, D. A. Carson has published a two-volume companion set to Robert Murray M’Cheyne’s Bible reading plan, For the Love of God: A Daily Companion for Discovering the Riches of God’s Word, Volume 1 and For the Love of God: A Daily Companion for Discovering the Treasures of God’s Word, Volume 2. These short page-long devotionals/Bible studies are classic Carson – the man is brilliant, insightful, and sees both the trees and the forest of the Bible with clarity and application.

  1. What does it mean to say God is love in a metaphysical sense? I suspect the answer is more difficult than it might seem.
