A prayer for sanctification

In Psalm 141:3-4, David shows us how to pray for holiness: “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice deeds of wickedness with men who do iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies.”

We need God to guard our speech; we need God to guard our hearts, our desires. What do you want to eat? Unless God gives us right desires and loving speech, we are doomed.
