Am I Just a Pretty Love Song?

In Ezekiel, 33:30-33, God says that Ezekiel is to the people who hear him “like a sensual song by one who has a beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument; for they hear your words but they do not practice them.” As a preacher, I wonder, I fear, I pray not, that my people listen to me like they listen to good music. Am I just ear candy? Or do the words I say pierce, penetrate, affect, transform, change? Do people just hear me and say, “Good sermon,” or do they put what I say into practice on Monday morning? These are obviously rhetorical questions, but you need to ask them of yourself and your pastor.
