With William Plumer in Romans, Day 9 – Evening

Romans 1:5
NAS – …through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake…
KJV – …By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

“The great end of the ministry of the Gospel is not gained until men yield the obedience of faith, v. 5. The mercy shown to us poor sinners of the Gentiles, in making known to us the word of life, deserves perpetual eucharistic offerings. Who loves as he ought? Paul claims special interest in all Gentiles, and they ought to respond to his kind calls.” (Romans, 42)
