Chuck Colson on 60 Minutes in 1974

Here is Mike Wallace’s interview of Chuck Colson and Harold Hughes in the midst of the Watergate scandal. Colson had been converted, befriended by Hughes the Democratic Senator from Iowa, and was being grilled on the practical import of his faith. It’s an uncomfortable interview for Colson at times, but given the nature of his situation at the time, that’s understandable. As one who was -2 years old in 1974 (I was born in 1976), it is fascinating on several different levels to think about the issues that Mike Wallace brings up with Colson – historically, politically, spiritually. If you’re looking for a great book with a nice chapter on Colson, check out Eric Metaxas’ Seven Men and the Secret of Their Greatness.
