Minimum wages have unintended consequences

Don Boudreaux’s letter to the editor of the New York Times is a great reminder that when governments set price floors in the labor market (you can’t pay people below $X), then laborers lose out in other ways – such as losing their jobs altogether to hastened technology, or losing vacation time.
